Petition seeks FATA MNA’s disqualification

ISLAMABAD: A constitutional petition seeking disqualification of a FATA MNA for allegedly taking a bribe in return for casting a vote in a Senate election was filed in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

A journalist Kamal Azfar through advocate Qari Abdul Rasheed had filed the petition under Article 184 (3) of the constitution. The applicant stated that Muhammad Kamran Khan, a FATA MNA, in a TV programme had admitted taking millions of rupees for casting a vote in the Senate election in 2009.

The petitioner maintained that Khan had violated the articles 62 and 63 of the constitution. He pleaded the court to disqualify the MNA and bar him from holding any public office as he had admitted taking the bribe. He requested the court to direct the election commission to hold fresh by-elections in Khan’s constituency after he is disqualified.

The MNA kamran khan is from North Waziristan Agency and he told in the Geo program(Jirga) with Salim Safi that  he has not taken the bribe. He also told that if any body prove it then i  will resign by my self.think .IF he can say this in front of the whole nation then it proves that  he  has not taken the money. So we strongly condemn such kind of allegations.
